Symposium on CPP

The Hong Kong Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism (HKSPEM) was honoured to welcome Professor Anders Juul from Denmark as our distinguished guest speaker for the Symposium on Central Precocious Puberty (CPP), co-organized and supported by Ipsen.

Professor Juul delivered an insightful presentation on the secular trend, diagnosis, and management of CPP, sharing his extensive clinical experience and the latest evidence in this rapidly evolving field. The meeting also featured valuable local case presentations and discussions, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange views on the practical challenges encountered in clinical practice.

The Society is deeply grateful to Professor Juul for his generous support, inspiring lecture, and thoughtful discussions, which greatly enriched the educational experience of all attendees. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our local speakers, moderators, and all participants for their active engagement and meaningful contributions throughout the meeting.

The HKSPEM Annual General Meeting & Scientific Symposium 2026

The HKSPEM Annual General Meeting & Scientific Symposium 2026, held on 19 April 2026, was an immense success, bringing together healthcare professionals for insightful discussions on innovations in paediatric obesity management. We were especially delighted to welcome Professor Daniel Weghuber from Salzburg to Hong Kong. Attendees were captivated by the engaging and highly informative presentations delivered by Professor Daniel Weghuber and Dr Ho Chung Yau.

The programme covered key topics including paediatric obesity, from epidemiology to diagnosis and management, obesity medication management, and the impact of paediatric obesity on early puberty. It also featured lively case presentations by Dr Matthew Lam, Dr Geoffrey Yu, and Dr Jojo Chan, followed by fruitful discussions among participants.

Through this event, HKSPEM fostered strong collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange across the paediatric endocrinology community, creating a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary discussion and promoting continuous innovation in paediatric care. The organising team extends sincere appreciation to all speakers, moderators, trainees, participants, and supporting organisations for their active involvement and contributions, which made the symposium both meaningful and engaging.

We look forward to building on this momentum and strengthening the continued growth and impact of HKSPEM in the years ahead.

Scientific Symposium on Growth 12 December 2025

The Scientific Symposium on Growth was successfully held on 12 December 2025 (Friday), bringing together paediatricians and allied health professionals with a strong interest in growth and paediatric endocrinology. Professor Fabian Yap, Senior Consultant and Head of the Paediatric Endocrinology Service of the Division of Paediatric Medicine at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore, delivered an engaging and insightful lecture that highlighted current approaches to the assessment and management of growth disorders, stimulating active discussion among participants.
