The HKSPEM Annual Scientific Meeting cum AGM held on 2 March 2024 was an immense success, captivating attendees with its insightful presentations on the future of diabetic care, specifically focusing on exploring insulin pump therapy. I am pleased to provide a comprehensive report on the highly successful "Prader-Willi Syndrome HK Parents' Conference 2023". This conference served as a vital platform for parents of children with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) in Hong Kong, bringing together a total of 20 participants from 10 PWS families. The conference featured a diverse range of speakers, including renowned experts such as geneticists, respirologists, endocrinologists, and dietitians. Their presentations covered various aspects of PWS, including the latest advancements in genetics, respiratory care, endocrine management, and dietary considerations.
It is worth noting that the event was co-organized by the Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism (HKSPEM) and Rare Disease HK, demonstrating their commitment to supporting PWS families and raising awareness about this rare condition. The collaboration between these organizations ensured that the conference was well-structured and encompassed a comprehensive range of topics relevant to PWS.
